The Gulfsouth Youth Action Fund (GYAF) will proudly award $10,000 in grants to five youth-led, youth-driven organizations to increase meaningful ways to address the interests and social concerns impacting youth and their peers in the community. This month, the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee will consider S. 678, the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Reauthorization Act of 2009. S. 678 will reauthorize the bipartisan Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act (JJDPA), which has provided critical protections to youth in the juvenile justice system for over 30 years. S. 678 is positive bill that offers a lot of protections for youth and their communities.
